This past Tuesday the Los Angeles Lakers received these fresh rings for winning the 2010 NBA Championshop last season. The ceremony before their game against the Houston Rockets was really dope, in which each player introduced one another to receive their rings.
What's unique about these rings is that they contain a piece of the ball from the historic Game 7 battle against the Boston Celtics last season. They were crafted by jeweler Jason Arasheben of Beverly Hills, and are encrusted with 16 diamonds featuring each individual player’s face.
In addition to receiving their rings, the Lakers, after a rocky start, won a close and competitive game. So they have started the season off on the right foot at 1-0 on their quest for a 3Peat. Check the video below of the ring ceremony.

Early this morning reggae legend Gregory Isaacs was pronounced dead at 59 years old. After a year long battle with lung cancer, Isaacs passed away peacefully at his home in London, surrounded by three of his eleven children and his wife Linda Isaacs.
Gregory "Cool Ruler" Isaacs was on my short list of artists that I still needed to see live. I had the opportunity to see him at Raggamuffin's Festival in Long Beach last January. However, it is now too late. He had one hell of a career and has definitely left a huge legacy in the world of reggae music.
The homies from Delta 9 MC's did a heck of a job rocking Da Ill Spot last Friday! It was their first show in several years and appear to be emerging back on the scene in full force.

Peep the video below of Pharaohe Monch performing the song, "Clap (One Day)", which is in tribute to the many victims of police brutality.
These are words from Pharaohe in reference to his song: "Instead of protect and serve, police often escalate situations, as with the cases of Sean Bell, Oscar Grant, or Aiyana Stanley Jones, and hundreds more who fell victim to police violence. I wrote this song to express my frustration, as well as raise the question of how our communities can create safety and prevent violence, with out relying on police."
"My brother is a police officer so I know there are some well intentioned people wearing blue uniforms. But the issue of police violence is much bigger than good cops and bad cops, it comes down to a broken system which criminalizes our communities, and must be completely transformed." Clap (One Day) from W.A.R. Media on Vimeo.

And now for the 2nd straight Bambu posting of the day. This video is for the joint, Who's That?! The song was inspired by a Das Racist song called, "Who's That? Brooown!" off their Sit Down, Man mixtape. Bambu got the instumental from Sabzi and laced it with a couple of verses of his own.The video was produced and directed by Oishi Media and edited by Bambu.
One of the truest spitters around, Bambu is linking up with DJ Muggs, one of the illest in the beat game. I haven't heard an official date yet, but the mixtape, Los Angeles, Philippines, will be coming soon.
In the joint, "Pow Wow Drums," Bambu gives an education on SB1070, Arizona's controversial immigration law. And in "Smoke Smarter" he embraces herb smoking, but encourages heads not to let it take over your life and get in way of the things you need to do. I'm looking forward to the mixtape. Check for it!
