Check the new video from the homies, The Armada for the joints, "I've Been"/"Back It Up." I actually got a small cameo in this video. It was dope working on it, and even doper to see how dope the video came out. Now that's alot of dope! But word, it also features appearances from Reef Tha Lost Cauze and Rakaa Iriscience. These joints are featured on the album, Downtime, which was released last year.
The last two Fat Beats record stores, located in New York and LA, will unfortunately be closing shop in Septemeber. New York's store will close on September 4 and LA's store will close on September 18.
After 16 years in business, many of us Hiphop heads have memories galore of going to Fat Beats, copping the latest records, catching dope in-stores, or just stopping by and running into some of our favorite artists.
This has hit me hard. It's just like when Stacks in Cerritos closed down yo. Fat Beats will continue as a record label and as an online retailer. There will be a huge blow-out sale and several tribute events to come. Stay posted to the website.

This past Saturday, my favorite football player of all time, Jerry Rice, was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Rice is the league's all time leader in touchdowns with 208. Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher was also indcuted. Other inductees were John Randle, Dick LeBeau, Rickey Jackson, Russ Grimm and Floyd Little.
Having won 3 Superbowls a piece while playing for the rivaling San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith were easily voted in to the Hall in their first year of eligibility.
