Paid Dues 2010 Lineup Announced!

This morning the lineup for Guerilla Union & Murs' Paid Dues Festival was announced! First off, we are very proud to announce that the homey MC Prototype was added to the lineup! My crew The Noise Academy campaigned hard for Proto and it definitely paid off! People, you will not be disappointed by his performance!

Coming fresh off his Rock The Bells performance, Ice Cube is back to rock the house, with Tha Dogg Pound sure to bring that gangsta vibe too. Now I'm pretty sure some "hardcore underground hiphop heads" will be pretty upset about this, but yo..these cats are legends...and they know how to perform. Expect an impromptu performance from Snoop Dogg yo!

It's also pretty exciting to see Freestyle Fellowship rockin the spot! Guerilla Union shows are all about reunions, and this is definitely a dope reunion. I was able to catch the official one at the Project Blowed 15 Year Anniversary late last year.

Tech N9Ne did every Guerilla Union show last year, and the relationship continues with this show. He's definitely one hell of a performer yo. And there is no Guerilla Union show without some kind of Wu-Tang presence, which will be filled by Raekwon, performing joints off the very dope Only Built For Cuban Linx 2. Expect at least a couple of other Wu members to bless the set. I was definitely expecting Felt to be on the lineup since they recently released their 3rd album, however, Murs will be rocking with 9th Wonder instead.

Taking the Sage Francis' place as that weird white MC will be R.A. The Rugged Man, whom I believe is actually a better MC than Francis. It's exciting to see Dilated Peoples and People Under The Stairs on the lineup. It's been a while since I've seen either crew rock a full set. Hopefully both have new material.
This year's supergroup of interest will be Random Axe, consisting of Sean Price, Guilty Simpson, and Black Milk. I hope to be able to catch some of that set.

Psycho Realm and Necro bring out a whole different crowd on their own, and both acts are known for having some of the wildest fans. Another cat I could see people questioning on the lineup is Freeway, who will be rocking with Jake One. However, Freeway is definitely nice on the mic. I have never seen his live show though, but I could see him bringing madd energy.

With acts like Del Tha Funkee Homosaphien, Afro Classics, Shapeshifters, and Strong Arm Steady, it should be enough to still get those "backpackers" out despite the commercial appeal of some of the headliners.

I think this lineup is a great mix of all areas of dope Hiphop though, and I am definitely looking forward to the turnout of the event. And of course, there will be some surprise guests to come. Hope to see you there. Peace!

Murs is excited to announce Paid Dues 2010!
