Below is the teaser trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street movie. I'm a huge fan of horror movies and the Elm Street series, but not exactly of remakes and prequels. Most of them suck. So hopefully they do this movie right. Jackie Earle Haley is casted as Freddy Krueger. The movie will be released on April 30, 2010.

G4 Nerdcore Promo ft. Del Tha Funkee Homosapien

I'm kind of late on this G4 commercial spot featuring Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. I just saw it for the first time on G4TV today. If you're not aware of G4, it's a cable TV station that primarily caters to video games. Del has always expressed his love for video games, so this makes a lot of sense. One of my favorite Del tracks is Proto Culture, which is all about gaming.

Allen Iverson Not Exactly Retired After All

Well, just a few days ago when I wrote about Iverson's announced retirement, I speculated that he would not stay retired. However, I didn't think it would only last a day before he retracted his statements. Sounds to me like a case of hurt feelings. AI is used to being "the man" and not just complimentary player. But hey, he's got to be realistic about his situation. His best days are past him, and he must be willing to be more of a team player and contribute to the better good of any team that wishes to employ him. There is a report out that his original team, the Philadelphia 76ers are thinking about signing him. He surely would be embraced if he were to return. We shall see.

Rheteric is big on the battle scene. Youtube him, and you'll see some of his battles. Check this one. Allen Iverson Announces Retirement

Today it was reported by Stephen A. Smith that future Hall of Fame NBA guard Allen Iverson has announced his retirement. It's pretty sad to see him go out this way, but over the last couple of years AI has proven to be very difficult to deal with, going through 3 different teams since 2006. He started this season off as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. I knew that wouldn't be a good fit, but I thought he would have lasted longer than the 3 games he played with Memphis.

Iverson starred for the Philadelphia 76ers for 10 years before being traded to the Denver Nuggets, which so-so. Last year AI was traded to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups. Denver became the 2nd best team in the West, and Detroit went in decline. Iverson did not want to see any part of coming off the bench, which is what he was subjected to in Detroit, and and even on a team as bad as Memphis, they wanted him to be a reserve. I have a feeling that he'll be back sometime near the end of this year, probably hopping on board with a contender, but we'll see.

AI, a 10-time All-Star and 2001 MVP, has the 6th all-time scoring average at 27 points per game. He was also the 1997 Rookie of The Year and has four scoring titles and one NBA Finals appearance.

If indeed this is the last we see of The Answer then I wish him the best. He was an ill one yo!

UCLA Mascot vandalized despite being under surveillance

This is funny yo. The UCLA Bruin mascot statue was vandalized late last night by either some USC students or fans. It was splashed with USC Trojan colors, gold and cardinal. It was guarded by a protective tarp, and was even supposed to be monitored by UCLA students, however someone got the best of them. The annual USC-UCLA game is this Friday.

The album was scheduled for a December release, but it was just announced that it will now be delayed until early February 9, 2010. So I guess we will just have to wait a bit longer! Metal Fingerz Doom Show Last Night..Wack!

Indeed the MF Doom that showed up to The Beat Club last night was a fake! Dude came out mad short, showing hardly no personality. He had a loudmouth hypeman doing all of the talking while he played beats off a laptop, and he didn't make one beat even though there was all kinds of beat making equipment set up. He didn't speak into the mic at all. And needless to say, there were a few hundred pissed off people.

Most of the heads up at The Grand Star last night paid $10 with RSVP or $15 without to get in. Those promoters were up to some shady business, and came out with a lot of dough. I hope the owners of The Grand Star really check those fools for bringing that bs up there yo, making the spot look bad. Check the video captured by someone below. It's madd dark, but you can get an idea of what popped off up there.

MF Doom set to appear @ The Grand Star Tonight

MF Doom is scheduled to appear at The Beat Club, which is at the world famous Grand Star Jazz Club in Chinatown. Now the question is, will the real MF Doom actually be in attendance. Over the last few years there have been several lip-synching imposters making appearances at shows. This crowd won't go for that kind of bs, so we shall see. It's an important spot for me to promote at, so I'll definitely be there.

Cell Phone Guns Have Arrived

I just got an e-mail forwarded to me from my mom in regards to guns that are disguised as cell phones. I'm not sure how long this technology has been around, but this is the first I'm hearing of it. Now that's pretty damn scary yo. I myself am not a gun person so I have no desire to own one of these. I'd imagine alot of people would be interested though.

Apparently it looks like a regular cell phone same size, same shape, same overall appearance. But beneath the digital face lies a .22-caliber pistol a phone gun capable of firing four rounds in quick succession with a touch of the otherwise standard keypad. You can only tell the diffference if you hold it and feel that it's much heavier than a regular cell phone. So that's why airports require that cell phones go through the security scanner as well. So if someone points their cell phone at you, you just might wanna take that seriously yo.

The annual We The People Festival has been put on hold until early 2010 due to rumored low ticket sales. I was looking forward to hitting the event up this weekend. Hopefully it will indeed go down still within the coming months. Read the press release below.

Peace to the homey Glenjamin for always getting all of the ill party footage yo. I can always count on him to document how dope the party was if I wasn't there. Peep the clips below from this past Sunday's Hornitos block party. It took place on the Warner Brothers lot in Burbank. DJ Jazzy Jeff was guest was spinning MJ hits, and Skillz was hosting, and the other clip features DJ Craze getting the party poppin! I was gonna be at this event, but a family emergency kept me from attending. Family first..party later..Word!

Leonidis Meteor Shower Tonight!

Tonight around 1 am PST will be the peak of the Leonidis Meteor Shower. It's estimated to be about 20 - 30 meteors per hour. To some that may not be worth it to stay up late, however, to residents in Asia, it will be 200-300 an hour! Due to the positioning of Mars, the meteors are expected to pass in front of the planet, making it appear to be shooting from out of it. I'm gonna be up on a big hill somewhere watching the show with a friend. So word, if you've never seen a meteor shower or this is your kind of thing, check it out!

Other than this being a Clipse music video, it also doubles as Popeyes commercial. Ha..talk about using Hiphop for product placement! Popeyes is Hiphop though! Man, especially on a Tuesday. You get a 2 piece and biscuit for 99 cents! Haha..but word, also when I first saw this video I didn't even recognize Cam'ron. He's sporting a more rugged look nowadays, as well as no pink. I've never been much of a fan of his, but he came pretty nice in this joint. I've always felt The Clipse though. This is a dope joint, and a nice video, yet another from Rik Cordero. He's just bangin em out!

Congrats to Manny Pacquiao!

Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao made it look easy in his Welterweight title fight against Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto. Indeed Cotto got a few good shots in on Manny, but he never hurt him.

Cotto was dropped twice, but showed heart by avoiding a knockout, and going nearly the distance before the referee stopped the fight midway through the 4th quarter. Pac-Man has proven for a while now that he's the illest in the game right now. He has now won 7 titles in 7 different divisions! Cotto was very gracious in defeat, calling Pac-Man one of the greatest fighters ever.

So, all of the boxing world is awaiting a crash collision between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather,Jr. We shall see if that's to come in the near future. If so, it's sure to be the highest grossing fight ever. Check the higlights yo!

I just got word of the Ol' Dirty Bastard documentary screening tonight in LA at the Downtown Independent Theater. This spot has been constantly screening dope music documentaries.
